Professional and Personable Local Business Design
Hill Tuition
Ruth and Paul Hill were receiving most of their leads by word of mouth on Facebook, but felt it was time to expand their online presence and give their business a professional makeover. They also wanted to extend their online tuition sessions beyond just the Wiltshire borders.
Their ethos is to target young people who may struggle with the more traditional schooling methods by providing an alternative learning approach to personal tutoring. They also wanted to highlight their extensive experience in working with Special Educational Needs & Disability students (SEND) so all young people can have the opportunity to learn.

What and how we delivered
We met Ruth Hill face-to-face and got to know her as a person. Her passion for helping young people learn so they could reach their potential was quite extraordinary. It was clear that we needed to design a website that reflected that passion and showcased how personable they were.
We settled on a white/green gradient for the background to give it a fresh look and bright orange for the call-to-action buttons. They covered 10 different subjects, but not all up to the same level. We designed 10 unique icons to highlight the subjects they covered and the key-stage level they tutored each of those subjects to. We added a large image of both Ruth and Paul to give it that personal touch and highlighted their extensive experience. We designed it for mobile-first and desktop with responsiveness to tablets.
Overall the web design was fresh and honed in on their personable characters.
